The Explorers\u2019 Camp is situated in the Science Hub of the Greater Cradle Nature Reserve and is the home of exploration and discovery for scientists and guests working and visiting the Cradle of Humankind UNESCO World Heritage site near Johannesburg, South Africa. Offering a unique experience on the continent, The Explorers\u2019 Camp offers users and guests the potential of mingling and interacting with scientists, explorers and students who are actively working on some of the most important discoveries of the 21st<\/sup> Century related to human origins.\u00a0 The National Geographic Society funded Explorers\u2019 Camp supports the Society\u2019s Rising Star Program of research led by Explorer in Residence Professor Lee Berger.\u00a0 It is thus an active scientific endeavour, servicing first and foremost important excavations and scientific work across the region, and hosting scientific visitors and guests from around the world.<\/p>\n

With 10 comfortable custom lodges built in the style of African safari tents, but with the comfort of bush lodging, the camp can support up to 20 guests and includes a scenicly situated exploration themed lodge suitable for small scale conferencing.<\/p>\n

The Explorers\u2019 Camp offers self-catering or catered dining facilities for long or short stays. With abundant wildlife, views of scenic waterholes and privileged access to Cradle area fossil tours and the potential to visit active scientific laboratories and excavations, The Explorers\u2019 Camp offers visitors the once in a lifetime opportunity to be there when the next great discovery is made.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
